Dr. Steven Vose’s book manuscript Reimagining Jainism in Islamic India has won the Edward C. Dimock, Jr. Book Prize in the Indian Humanities from the American Institute of Indian Studies.
This prize is awarded to young scholars who are publishing their first book and comes with a $2,500 subvention towards the cost of publication.
Dr. Vose’s book is a micro-historical study of how Jain intellectuals re-conceptualized the Jain world during the height of the first major Islamicate polity in South Asia, the Delhi Sultanate. It is set to be published by Routledge.
